What Rough Beast | Covid-19 Edition | 03 31 20 | Sarah Losner

Sarah Losner
Infection

the world is infected
even I am not immune
although I wash and
pray and nourish and
rest I feel in my heart
and in my head that
we are not safe and
my palms sweat and
my heart races and I
feel as though I am
going to combust into
a thousand tiny shards
of glass because I am
stuck inside and have
not seen another human
in five days and my
family won’t see me
and I can’t go into
work or take the train
or step outside without
fear of the unknown
and fear of judgement
and fear of infection
