What Rough Beast | Poem for January 31, 2018

Justin Shin
Buffer

the depth of the woods
the yawning gaps between the trees
yearn for injury
go there
throw your words towards the sky thinning out
of clouds
rage
weep
but expect no audience
the firm timber stalks
will soak up tears and evening dew alike
the creeping moss
burrow in your footsteps
all to be gone by next morning
